The Firm was established in Hong Kong in the year 1948 and has an outstanding reputation in local business community and within the accounting profession.

Directors
  • Thomas Wong (Managing Director)

    Thomas Wong (Managing director) is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (U.K.), a Certified Internal Auditor (U.S.A.), a Fellow of the Institute of Directors of Hong Kong, an Associate of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Tax Advisor in Hong Kong.

    He graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic (now known as Hong Kong Polytechnic University) majored in Accountancy and thereafter worked in Peat Marwick Hong Kong (now known as KPMG) for almost 10 years prior to joining our firm. He has over 35 years of experience in auditing, accounting and taxation.

    He has participated extensively in the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA") since 1980s and has/had served as Council Member and on various Panels and Committees of the HKICPA including:

    • Disciplinary Panel B
    • Investigation Panel under The Professional Accountants Ordinance
    • Professional Standards Monitoring Committee (Chairman)
    • Small and Medium Practitioners Committee (Chairman)
    • Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee
    • Audit Profession Reform Advisory Group
    • CPA Qualifying Process Reform Working Group
    • Qualification and Examination Board
    • Professional Qualifications Accountability Board

    He also sits on the Board of the Hong Kong Institute of Accredited Accounting Technicians and is currently its President.

    He is a Member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel of the Financial Reporting Council appointed by the Financial Secretary of the HKSAR.

    He was a member and the Vice Chairman of the Accountancy Training Board of the Vocational Training Council. He was also a member of the Advisory Board on Accounting Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He had been a member of Nexia International Audit Committee.

  • Brenda Chan

    Brenda Chan is a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), an Associate of the Taxation Institute of Hong Kong, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Tax Advisor in Hong Kong.

    She graduated from London School of Economics at London University in U.K. with a Bachelor Degree in Computing and also obtained a Master Degree in Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

    She has over 30 years of experience in auditing, accounting and taxation in Hong Kong and in the People's Republic of China. Prior to joining our firm, she had worked in Kidsons Chartered Accountants in the United Kingdom, the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen & Co., Hong Kong, and also as a financial controller of an investment consultancy company.

  • Tony Leung

    Tony Leung is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.) and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA) and a Certified Public Accountant.

    He has more than 15 years of working experience in accounting, auditing and taxation. Prior to re-joining our firm in 2004, he had worked in one of the Big 4 CPA firms in Hong Kong.

  • Daniel Kwan

    Daniel Kwan is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.), an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (U.K.) and a Certified Public Accountant.

    Daniel had worked in Ernst & Whinney (now known as Ernst & Young) and as a partner of Moore Stephens in Hong Kong before joining our firm. Daniel has over 35 years of experience in accounting, auditing and taxation.

  • Anthea Wong

    Anthea Wong is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.) and a Certified Public Accountant of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has more than 15 years of working experience in accounting, auditing and taxation. Prior to joining our firm, she had worked in Baker Tilly, Moore Stephens and Ernst & Young.

  • Lydia Wong

    Lydia Wong is a director of Marfan & Associates Ltd. ("MFA") in charge of its corporate secretarial services. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (U.K.) and an Associate Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries. She has more than 30 years of working experience in professional firm.

     
  • Betty Lai

    Betty Lai is a director of MFA in charge its corporate consultancy and financial services. She is Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (U.K.), a Certified Public Accountant of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (U.K.). She has around 20 years of working experience in auditing, finance and accounting. Prior to joining our firm, she had worked for various companies listed on the Main Board in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and on the AIM in the London Stock Exchange.

  • Selwyn Mar

    Selwyn Mar is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (U.K.), a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA).

    He graduated from London School of Economics at London University in U.K. with a Bachelor Degree in Economics. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Lingnan University and an appointed member of the Court of Lingnan University.

    He also sits on the board of a number of corporations listed in Hong Kong. He has extensive experience in commerce and industry having worked as the Chief Executive in Asia Pacific for a group of toy manufacturing companies of a listed company in the New York Stock Exchange and the President and Executive Director of The Sincere Department Store in Hong Kong and in Mainland China. He was actively involved in the retail industry in Mainland China in the 1990s which led to the setting up of a joint venture department store, the first of its kind, in Shanghai.

    He was the President of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants (now known as Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants - HKICPA) in 1991, a member of the Commission of Securities & Futures Appeals Panel, the Takeovers and Mergers Panel, Insider Dealing Tribunal and various committees of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. He was also a director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong chairing its China Committee and a Governor of the Chinese International School.

    He was the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Region and a Director of the Board of Nexia International, a global network of accounting firms.

    His advice and opinion are well respected among the Hong Kong business, accounting community and regulatory authorities.

  • Angel Chan

    Angel Chan is a manager of the secretarial service of MFA. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (U.K.) and an Associate Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries. She also has a Bachelor Degree in Law from London University. Prior to re-joining MFA, she had worked in Johnson Stokes and Master, a leading solicitors' firm in Hong Kong.

    Kelvin Chan is a graduate of the CPA Qualification Programme of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has more than 10 years of working experience in accounting, auditing and taxation.

     
  • Florence Li

    Florence Li is a manager of the taxation services with focus on individual salaries tax and profits tax for unincorporated entities. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (U.K.). She has around 13 years of working experience in commercial and professional accounting firms.
